Vikings receiver Jerome Simpson will not play this afternoon as the Vikings face the Redskins at FedEx Field. Simpson, who was officially listed on the injury report as questionable, is still dealing with a back problem that has been causing him to have weakness and numbness in his leg for the past week.

Simpson first reported the symptoms Oct. 7, a few hours before the Vikings kicked off against Tennessee. Simpson played 24 snaps in that win but didn’t record a catch.

He sat out Wednesday’s practice and was limited on Thursday and Friday. Head coach Leslie Frazier continues to assert that the team isn’t worried about losing Simpson for an extended period of time. But they will hold him out this afternoon.

Other Vikings inactives today are Marvin Mitchell, Jarius Wright, Brandon Burton, Mistral Raymond, Mark Asper and McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
