You know, I was just thinking. The one regret this time of year is there just isn't enough time to discuss the NFL draft. Boy, it seems like that thing just sneaks up on us, doesn't it?
For what it's worth, here is what's believed to be the 12,345,678th mock draft on record for this year. It's the mock draft by the Sporting News' 32 NFL correspondents. I went safe and picked USC left tackle Matt Kalil No. 3 overall. That's still a hard pick to make considering cornerback Morris Claiborne would make it harder for the rest of the NFC North to match the 1.2 gazillion yards it threw for against the Vikings.
In this mock, Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill went No. 11 overall to Kansas City. I guess that's a fall for him. Then again, maybe all the talk about his recent rise was just the usual pre-draft baloney.
Here's who the rest of the NFC North took in this mock:
19, Bears: Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse.
23, Lions: Mark Barron, S, Alabama.
28, Packers: Nick Perry, OLB, USC.
