Vikings sign FB Jerome Felton

The Vikings finally got their fullback.
Six months after failing in their bid to claim Jerome Felton off waivers, the Vikings signed him during his visit to Winter Park on Tuesday. It comes two days after the team signed Lex Hilliard, a fullback-tailback hybrid, so you might surmise that the team wants to beef up its beef at the point of attack.
Felton, 25, was a fifth round draft pick of the Lions in 2008. He played three years with 16 starts in Detroit before being released. The Vikings put in a claim, but were beaten out by the Panthers.
Felton played nine games in Carolina, was released and finished the year with five games in Indianapolis.
He has 136 yards rushing on 42 career carries, and 280 yards receiving on 34 career catches. But he's not coming north to touch the ball. He's 6-foot, 246 pounds and will compete with Ryan D'Imperio for the starting fullback job.
The Vikings also officially announced the re-signing of nose tackle Letroy Guion. He signed a three-year, $9 million deal with $2.5 million guaranteed.
