According to theSt. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Vikings could be shopping for a new director of player personnel as soon as this weekend.

George Paton, a respected sidekick to Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman the past five years, is among the two finalists for the Rams' job, according to the Post-Dispatch. The paper also cites sources that say it's Paton's job to lose.

Paton and the other finalist, Falcons director of player personnel Les Snead, are expected to meet with Rams owner Stan Kroenke this weekend. The Rams, who have interviewed at least eight candidates, are expected to have a GM in place by early next week.

If Paton gets the job, he and new coach Jeff Fisher will be making the second pick in each round. The Vikings have the third pick in each round. That could be an advantage for the Rams, although the Vikings are still a long way from finalizing their draft plans with the draft still two months away.
