Ponder will start, Peterson inactive

Posted by: Mark Craig under Vikings, Lions Updated: December 11, 2011 - 10:33 AM

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will start today at Detroit, while running back Adrian Peterson will be inactive for the third consecutive game because of his left ankle sprain.

Ponder practiced only on Friday this week after suffering a hip pointer in last week's loss to the Broncos.

The Vikings' other inactives are CB Chris Cook, LB Xavier Adibi, C Brandon Fusco, OT DeMarcus Love, DE D'Aundre Reed and TE Allen Reisner.
