Officially, Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield goes down on the injury report as questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina, still working back from a neck injury he suffered four weeks ago. But the likelihood is that Winfield will try to give it a go against the Panthers. He made it through Thursday's contact practice without any setbacks and now simply needs to give coach leslie Frazier the greenlight to be on the field this weekend.

"He wasn't too bad today," Frazier said after practice. "He felt OK. Not to the point where he said, 'Coach, I'm definitely ready to go.' But we'll see how he [feels] tomorrow. ... Medically he's pretty much been cleared. It's just, 'Does he have the feel for being able to go out and contact the way he has to contact."

Joining Winfield in the questionable ranks are receiver Percy Harvin (ribs) and running back Lorenzo Booker (concussion).

Nine other Vikings are listed as probable for Sunday: Adrian Peterson, Visanthe Shiancoe, Remi Ayodele, E.J. Henderson, Brian Robison, Husain Abdullah, Jamarca Sanford, John Sullivan and Jared Allen.

Allen missed his second consecutive practice Friday after his wife gave birth to the couple's first daughter on Thursday.

Said Frazier, who saw Allen during meetings Friday: "He's so excited. Just a smile from ear to ear. He's as pumped as you'd imagine."
