A lighter, brighter Metrodome

Well, we're back in the Metrodome. Players already are warming up for tonight's game against the Cowboys, and some guy is screaming the national anthem.

I have to admit, it looks a lot better with the new roof. And by a lot better, I mean a lot less dumpy than before. I'd give the lighter, brighter roof a B-plus in terms of temporary fixes for stadiums that need to be replaced.

We'll be updating the blog some later on, but I thought I'd take a quiet-before-the-storm moment to throw out a quote from owner Zygi Wilf in this month's Twin Cities Business magazine. Wilf recommited his intentions to keep the team in Minnesota despite having only a year left on the least at the Metrodome and no agreement on building a new stadium.

Asked if a move to Los Angeles is a possibility if the team's plan to build a new stadium in Arden Hills doesn't materialize, Wilf said, "Los Angeles is not on my radar. There's nothing, there's no deadline for me to tell them anything."
