Judd reported Sunday from the NFL Scouting Combine that the Vikings offered wide receiver Sidney Rice a long-term contract.

Both ESPN and the NFL Network reported Sunday night that Rice will not sign with the Vikings before testing free agency, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

The Vikings can sign Rice to a new deal before the collective bargaining agreement expires March 3. If he's not signed by then, the team can't negotiate with Rice until a new CBA gets done, in the event of a lockout.

Vikings officials met with Rosenhaus at the combine this weekend. Rosenhaus declined comment when asked about Rice on Friday.

It's unclear whether Rice, who completed his fourth season, will be a restricted or unrestricted free agent in a new CBA. It's not a surprise that Rice wants to see what his market is before deciding where to sign.

Rice tweeted Sunday night that he has returned from his trip to China.
