Waiting for coaching staff decisions

Happy Sunday to you. While waiting for today's playoff games, we wanted to give a quick update on the Vikings coaching staff situation.

Sid Hartman had a chance to talk to Leslie Frazier in the past few days and Frazier told him   that he hopes to announce his offensive coordinator by Monday or Tuesday. Frazier interviewed former Denver coach Josh McDaniels more than a week ago, but McDaniels also interviewed with the St. Louis Rams on Saturday.

No word yet on how that interview went, but one would expect a decision in the next few days. That should dictate how the Vikings proceed with their staff. Frazier has not divulged many details about his thinking so it's unclear who he hopes to hire if McDaniels signs elsewhere.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell remains on staff so his role -- if he stays -- will become clear whenever Frazier finalizes his staff.

Frazier also is interested in hiring his close friend and former San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary, but there is competition now. The NFL Network reports that new Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera -- who also played with Singletary in Chicago -- would like to hire him to his staff as a linebackers coach.

By the way, who are you picking in today's games?
