Frazier, Vikings mum on future

DETROIT -- While we are told that Leslie Frazier is the Vikings' first choice to become their permanent head coach, owner Zygi Wilf would not confirm that on Sunday following his team's 20-13 loss at Ford Field.

Wilf declined to comment as he left the locker room.

Said Frazier: “I’m going to get together with our ownership either tonight or tomorrow and find out where we’re headed. Nothing has been solidified but we’re going talk further.”

Frazier said he has not talked to any other teams about their potential head coaching openings and acknowledged he wants to return.

“I’d love to be in that role next season so we could have a full offseason to implement some ideas and thoughts that I have for our team," Frazier said. "My familiarity with our situation, understanding our background and what I think we need to do to get back to being NFC North champs. It just gives me confidence that we can get it done in short order. I’m hoping for the best and just believing that I’ll be back in Minnesota.”

Frazier acknowledged he has some ideas for the job. “If everything works out and I’m indeed named the head coach of the Vikings there are some things I would definitely like to address for sure," he said.

It's not surprising the Vikings aren't confirming anything until a contract has been signed and until then the team almost certainly will have no comment.
