Washington quarterback Donovan McNabb has a very good relationship with Brad Childress and Leslie Frazier from their time together in Philadelphia so he expressed mixed emotions on the events of this week.

Childress was McNabb's offensive coordinator in Philadelphia before taking over as Vikings coach in 2006. Frazier was the Eagles defensive backs coach when McNabb was drafted.

"It's a tough situation," McNabb said Wednesday morning in a conference call with Vikings beat writers. "Obviously in this business things happen and for everything that's been going on over there I wouldn't say that it wasn't unexpected. You just didn't know when. Brad is a great guy. He's a hard worker. He has a great family. I'm pretty sure he'll bounce back on his feet."

McNabb grew up in Chicago so he was familiar with Frazier, who played for the Bears from 1981-86. McNabb expects the Vikings will play inspired for Frazier on Sunday.

"I expect them to come in with obviously an aggressive approach and the mentality of playing hard for themselves and obviously for Leslie," McNabb said. "A lot of guys over there like Leslie and rightfully so. He's a great guy. I've known Leslie for years. I'm happy for his opportunity."

Frazier and Brett Favre will hold their press conferences this afternoon. Check back later for highlights.
