Vikings center John Sullivan missed almost all of training camp because a right calf injury, missed two games after injuring his left calf against Detroit in Week 3 and then left Sunday's game after re-injuring his left calf on the first series.

Sullivan was asked on Monday if he's ever had a season as frustrating as this one personally because of the injuries.

"Never in my life," he said.

Sullivan described his injury as a strain and said it will probably bother him all season until he can rest it during the offseason. Sullivan said he hopes to practice on Wednesday and play Sunday against Green Bay.

"It’s useless to search for answers at this point," he said. "The best thing we can do is get back in there, get some more treatment, do my more rehab and try and get back out on the field as soon as possible."

Sullivan, who was replaced by Jon Cooper, said he could have returned in an emergency situation but they didn't risk further injury.

Sullivan was one of only a few players who passed through the locker room during media access and agreed to talk. Several veterans declined interview requests, including Jared Allen, Bernard Berrian and Pat Williams.

Berrian declined an interview, saying he had a doctor's appointment. Berrian told coach Brad Childress after the deadline for making players inactive before Sunday's game that he could not play because of his groin injury.
