Joseph Conway, the newly hired lawyer for Jenn Sterger, said Wednesday afternoon that he has been in contact with the NFL and that his client is considering her options on whether to talk to the league about allegations Vikings quarterback Brett Favre sent her inappropriate photos and messages in 2008.

Favre was in his lone season with the Jets that year and Sterger was serving as in-game host/sideline reporter for the team. This comes a day after Favre met with NFL vice president of security Milt Ahlerich to discuss the allegations. Favre declined to discuss any details of the interview during his weekly news conference on Wednesday.

Asked why Sterger felt it necessary to hire a lawyer, Conway said: "Basically for everything. She's looking for legal advice, whether she should talk to the NFL We're looking at all the facts."

According to its website, the Long Island-based law firm of LaRusso and Conway focuses on criminal and civil litigation. It's likely Sterger will make a decision on whether to cooperate with the NFL by the end of this week at the latest.

Practice update: Safety Husain Abdullah (concussion) and tight end Jim Kleinsasser (unknown) were not taking part in the start of practice today. Favre, however, was throwing the ball and, according to Chip, had some zip on it that wasn't present in recent weeks.

Harvin honored: Percy Harvin was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown on Sunday against the Cowboys.
