The Vikings will have cornerbacks Cedric Griffin and Chris Cook on the field for today's game against the Lions after both missed the first two games of the season because of knee injuriese.

Griffin, who will start at right corner, will be playing in his first game since tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament eight months ago in the NFC title game against New Orleans. Cook suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in the Vikings' third preseason game against Seattle and underwent arthroscopic surgery shortly thereafter.

Despite the return of Griffin and Cook, the Vikings also will have Asher Allen and Lito Sheppard on the 45-man game-day roster. Look for Cook to left corner in the nickel with Antoine Winfield moving inside.

This means some changes in the inactive list. Safety Tyrell Johnson, the Vikings' second-round pick in 2008, will be inactive for the first time in his career. Johnson started 15 regular-season games in 2009 at strong safety but has lost that job to Husain Abdullah. Jamarca Sanford and Eric Frampton have moved ahead of Johnson on the depth chart.

Erin Henderson, who replaced Ben Leber last week against Miami and recovered a fumble at the Dolphins 1, also is inactive today. Leber (back) will be back at his starting position.

The Vikings remaining inactives are quarterback Joe Webb (third quarterback); running back Albert Young; center Jon Cooper; defensive tackle Fred Evans; defensive end Jayme Mitchell; and defensive end Everson Griffen.

Defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, who miss the first two games of the season because of a knee injury, will make his regular-season debut.

Although it's no surprise, Percy Harvin is active after battling a strained right hip and being sidelined for practice last Wednesday because of a migraine head. Rookie guard Chris DeGeare also will be active for the first time this season.

As expected, quarterback Matthew Stafford (right shoulder) headlines the Lions' list of inactives. Shaun Hill will make his second consecutive start at quarterback.

Also sitting out for the Lions: wide receiver Nate Burleson (ankle); running back Kevin Smith; linebackers Zack Follett (concussion) and Landon Johnson (neck); guard Manny Ramirez; tackle Jason Fox; and defensive end Willie Young.

Bryant Johnson will start at wide receiver for Burleson and Ashlee Palmer will start for Follett.
