Bernard Berrian has been almost nonexistent in the Vikings first two games. The veteran wide receiver has caught only three passes for 27 yards and he's also fumbled two punt returns.

Berrian talked about his struggles in the locker room Monday and said he believes there is a lot of pressure being applied to him externally about the passing game problems. Here is some of the Q&A with Berrian:

Q: How close are you and Brett Favre to getting on the same page?

Berrian: We've been on the same page. Timing is all good.

Q: On the first interception when Favre went backside shoulder, did you think it was a fade route?

Berrian: It's called a fade but the quarterback has a chance to throw it back shoulder any time.

Q: Do see any similarities to last year when the offense started slowly the first couple of weeks and then started clicking?

Berrian: Yeah, there are similiarities but I thought we executed a lot better last year in the beginning. You can't compare what we do this year to last year. It's a totally different season.

Q: Do you feel like you're close or is there a lot of work to be done?

Berrian: Yeah, there's still a lot of work to be done. We're still close. There's a lot of things we see good on the field. There's a lot of things that are bad on the field. It's just all working negatively right now.

Q: There's been talk in the past week about Vincent Jackson. How much would it help you and the offense to get another receiver like Sidney?

Berrian: It's always going to help. Vincent Jackson is a great player. But the people we've got here, we've been doing a great job.

Q: The expectation has been that you would replace Sidney. You're obviously not the same player and you have different strengths. Do you think it's a little bit unfair that the parallel was drawn there, that you would be that guy?

Berrian: I don't think it's unfair at all. ... Um, I don't even know how to answer that question. I'm not going to go there. I'm not going to answer that question. Not going to go there.

Q: Why?

Berrian: I'm not going to go there. I'm not going to answer that question. You can stop trying.

Q: It's a legit question right?

Berrian: A question is a question. I'm not going to answer it.

Q: Are you pressing at all trying to fill that role?

Berrian: No, not at all. No pressing. I talked to my dad about that. He wanted to make sure that I wasn't trying to do too much or anything like that. I just told him, 'No, I'm not trying to do too much.'

Q: Do you feel like there's being too much put on you from outside about this offense and passing struggles.

Berrian: Outside? Definitely.

Q: Inside?

Berrian: No. From position coaches, no.

Q: How would you define your role?

Berrian: Stretch the field.

Q: That was the original question about Sidney. You're not the same receiver.

Berrian: No, we're definitely two different receivers.
