DE Edwards fined $5,000

Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards was fined $5,000 by the NFL on Friday for striking Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck late on a pass play in last Saturday's preseason game at Mall of America Field at the Metrodome.
Edwards was called for a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty in the third quarter when he hit Hasselbeck after the quarterback had thrown a pass to wide receiver Mike Williams that fell incomplete.
