PERFORMANCE
Players often say there's never been a perfect game played, but Favre's performance sure felt close to that. His decisionmaking and pinpoint throws completely flummoxed Seattle's defense and led to a record-setting day for the 40-year-old.
THIS WEEK'S "CLASSIC FAVRE" MOMENT
Favre obviously is not as nimble as he was at age 30, but he showed on his 7-yard touchdown to Sidney Rice that he's still able to avoid pressure and make something happen. DE Cory Redding nearly sacked Favre, who rolled right and saw LB Aaron Curry closing on him. Rice was in the back corner of the end zone with two defenders in front of him. On the move, Favre lobbed a pass over their heads and Rice leaped high to grab it.
On a 3-yard TD pass to Bernard Berrian, Favre's first option was TE Visanthe Shiancoe, but Favre gave a pump fake and saw three defenders converge on Shiancoe. He quickly came back to the other side of the field and hit Berrian cutting to the middle.
WORST MOMENT
Um, he didn't shave? He didn't tuck his shirt in? Seriously, there was no bad Favre on the field. The guy completed a career-high 88 percent of his passes.
"My goal and only goal is to lead this team to the Super Bowl. As a younger player you think about individual honors and things that maybe you don't have. I've been fortunate to win a lot of those things. But none of it would be possible ... without throwing a dump pass to Percy or handing it to Adrian or having Jared get sacks or Pat Williams stopping the run. I could go on and on. There is no doubt that the way I'm playing now is the direct result of the guys around me. It's not like all of a sudden I've found some fountain of youth."
