Last update: November 4, 2009 - 7:26 AM

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he'll participate in the latest round of labor negotiations with the players' union.

Goodell says he will be present today in New York for talks about a new collective bargaining agreement. NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith also will attend.

The NFL opted out of the collective bargaining agreement last year, although the contract won't expire until after the 2010 season. That season will not have a salary cap under the current CBA, and Smith has said he hopes to have an agreement before then.

Etc.

• The ominous silence over Monday's ouster of Browns General Manager George Kokinis could signal a legal battle over money still due Kokinis. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Tuesday that the Browns were seeking dismissal "for cause." Monday, Mortensen reported the Browns were trying to work out a settlement with Kokinis in which he would resign, but that Kokinis refused.

• Dan Snyder says his Washington Redskins have "let everyone down." In a rare, in-season interview, Snyder said at a charity event that the team is embarrassed by its 2-5 start.
