The veteran quarterback is sore, but was back lifting weights and tending to his injuries Monday.
Brett Favre threw four touchdown passes and posted a stellar 128.6 passer rating against his former team Sunday despite a groin injury that he apparently suffered in practice last week.
In the wake of the Vikings' 38-26 victory against the Packers, Favre told Peter King of Sports Illustrated that the injury flared up during pregame warmups. At one point, Favre informed backup Tarvaris Jackson and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell that he had doubts about his ability to drop back.
Vikings coach Brad Childress confirmed the injury and said that he was standing right behind Favre when the veteran aggravated it.
"It twinged a little bit on him," Childress said. "I think he's on the injury report as hip-related, and all that stuff, that lower chain, all kind of fits together. He was obviously able to practice through everything."
Favre, who was limited in practice last week, was at Winter Park on Monday lifting weights and doing exercises for his hip flexor, according to Childress.
Deliver the punishmentFor the second consecutive game, Adrian Peterson made a defensive back pay for trying to tackle him. A week ago, Peterson made all the highlight packages when he flattened Steelers cornerback William Gay.
On Sunday, Peterson sent Packers safety Atari Bigby flying off his feet and out of bounds with a shot at the end of a seven-yard run in the fourth quarter.
"You have to let guys know that I'm not a punching bag," Peterson said. "You're not just going to get easy shots on me. I like to deliver the blow, as you saw."
A needed breakThe Vikings' bye week couldn't have come at a better time for Percy Harvin. The rookie wide receiver has dealt with a sore shoulder since taking a hit in Week 5 at St. Louis, and has been troubled by migraine headaches at times.
In college, Harvin would be near the end of the season, but he still has eight games to go. Nonetheless, Harvin said that isn't taking a toll on him.
"I'm feeling great right now," he said. "[The bye] couldn't have come at a better point. Got a little nicks and knacks, but I figure everybody does, so at this point I'm feeling pretty good. I'm ready to get back and play football."
Etc.• Favre's return to Lambeau had an impressive 47.0 rating and 76 share in the Twin Cities on Fox affiliate KMSP-TV, Channel 9. That makes it the highest-rated regular-season game on Fox in this market since the network began airing the NFL in 1994. Milwaukee, which is the home market for the Packers when it comes to television, had the second-highest rating in the country with a 45.7 and a 70 share.
• Jared Allen's 7 1/2 sacks in two games this season against the Packers is the highest sack total in one season against a single opponent for a Vikings player.
