Vikings rookie wide receiver Percy Harvin left the Metrodome with his left arm in a sling Sunday after re-injuring his left shoulder on a fourth-quarter kickoff return.
Harvin, who declined to comment after the Vikings' 33-31 victory over Baltimore, was injured with a little more than 5 minutes left. The Ravens had pulled within six points when Harvin fielded the ball at his own goal line and got to the 14 before being tackled by Matt Lawrence. A pile of Ravens played ended up on top of Harvin.
He remained on the field as athletic trainer Eric Sugarman examined him. He eventually was taken to the sideline and then to the locker room.
"I think he nicked that same shoulder," coach Brad Childress said. "He's a tough guy. They X-rayed it, and there is nothing extra in there. [It's] just uncomfortable."
That doesn't mean Harvin will be able to play Sunday in Pittsburgh. He likely will be examined further and will be closely monitored.
Harvin had been listed as questionable on the injury report entering Sunday's game after injuring the same shoulder last week following a second-quarter reception.
He had missed practice Wednesday but was able to do some work on Thursday and Friday and the decision was made to let him play on Sunday morning. Harvin had two receptions for 10 yards, one rushing attempt for 2 yards and returned four kicks for an average of 20.3 yards.
Harvin is fourth on the Vikings this season with 20 catches for 243 yards and two touchdowns. He also is averaging 28.8 yards on 18 kick returns and took one kickoff back 101 yards for a touchdown.
