Harvin vs. Walker is no contest

Not you again

No one would fault cornerback Marcus Walker if he's tired of going against rookie Percy Harvin in practice. Harvin has beaten Walker on a number of deep passes in camp, and he added another one in the afternoon practice. Harvin ran past Walker, and Sage Rosenfels hit him in stride for a 52-yard completion.

Tip and pick

Eric Frampton intercepted a Tarvaris Jackson pass in an 11-on-11 drill in the morning after middle linebacker David Herron deflected the ball. Jackson was trying to hit tight end Visanthe Shiancoe on a seam route, but Herron tipped it and Frampton caught it while falling to the ground.

Making up for the drop

Sidney Rice has had a very good camp, so when he dropped a pass in team drills it seemed noteworthy. But then so was his response. Rice caught three consecutive passes after his drop during the third-and-long drill.

I'll be here all night, folks

Rosenfels doesn't come across as a jokester, but he had a few zingers Tuesday. Asked about lining up at wide receiver in the Wildcat formation, Rosenfels said: "I'm probably the best athlete on the team. That should be the quote of the day in one of those newspapers you guys do."

Thanks, Sage, but we saved your best for below.

SIGNAL CALLING

Both Tarvaris Jackson and Rosenfels looked pretty sharp in the morning practice. They showed good timing with their receivers, particularly in 7-on-7 and third-down drills. Vikings coach Brad Childress said a decision has not been made on which quarterback will start Friday's preseason opener at Indianapolis.

CAMP CHATTER

"Where's your purse?"

-- Rosenfels to a Star Tribune Vikings beat reporter not named Judd Zulgad after the scribe mumbled to no one in particular that his arm was sore before the start of Rosenfels' media session.
