SEATTLE – Were the Vikings torched by Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson during Friday's first half?

The answer is somewhere in between no and Wilson's 147.0 quarterback rating, which he accumulated against both the Vikings starting defense and its reserves. Wilson, who completed 13 of 18 passes for 206 yards and two scores, took a seat at halftime.

Wilson's numbers shouldn't be overemphasized, even if his heroics were all too familiar to the Vikings just two years removed from their wild-card playoff loss to the Seahawks at TCF Bank Stadium.

Vikings defenders did little on the opening drive to stall Wilson as he completed passes at will to receivers Doug Baldwin and Kasen Williams. Wilson's touchdown pass to Willams, a 1-yard end zone fade, came against reserve cornerback Marcus Sherels, who filled in when Terence Newman needed to exit the drive. The Vikings secondary was already depleted with injured starters Trae Waynes and Andrew Sendejo replaced by Newman and Antone Exum Jr.

The biggest play on the opening drive — a 27-yard jump ball to Williams — was made possible by his impressive and unlikely one-handed grab against cornerback Xavier Rhodes.

Defensive end Danielle Hunter ended Wilson's second and final drive against the Vikings starters with a third-down sack.

Draft picks start

The Vikings started three of their top four draft picks between running back Dalvin Cook, center Pat Elflein and linebacker Ben Gedeon.

Cook gained 50 yards on eight touches, looking smooth behind a patchwork offensive line that still managed to open some running lanes. He averaged 5.7 yards on seven carries.

With Alex Boone sidelined, Nick Easton started at left guard so Elflein got the nod at center. Both threw critical blocks to spring Cook for gains. Gedeon, the fourth-round pick, started at weak-side linebacker and tied for the team lead with four tackles in the first half.

Walsh busy

Seahawks kicker Blair Walsh hit the crossbar from 53 yards away, his lone miss on five attempts for Seattle. Walsh, who signed with the Seahawks this offseason after the Vikings released him in the middle of last year, later made two 52-yard field goals and added two extra points.

The Vikings didn't give Walsh the cold shoulder. A handful of Vikings greeted him on the field before the game.

Keenum at No. 2

The pecking order remained the same at quarterback with Case Keenum taking snaps after Sam Bradford's night ended.

Keenum again showed some positives after a solid showing in Buffalo. The veteran completed six of nine passes for 36 yards in a two-minute drive just before halftime against the Seahawks. Kai Forbath made the ensuing 51-yard field goal.

Keenum finished 12-for-18 for 70 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Reiff, Murray still out

Left tackle Riley Reiff and running back Latavius Murray will wait at least another week to make their Vikings debuts.

Reiff (back) and Murray (ankle) were two of seven injured Vikings who did not suit up. Receiver Laquon Treadwell (hamstring), Waynes (shoulder), Boone (undisclosed), Sendejo (undisclosed) and linebacker Kentrell Brothers (hamstring) also did not play.

Treadwell also has yet to play this preseason since injuring his hamstring during training camp.
