Beer drinkers at the new Vikings stadium will have lots to choose from, including a rotating selection of hometown microbrews.

Brewers from the Twin Cities' Northeast Brewers & Distillers Association will rotate as vendors at U.S. Bank Stadium, an arrangement designed to serve their smaller production capabilities.

That means brews from Insight Brewing, 56 Brewing, Sociable Cider Werks, Bauhaus Brew Labs, NorthGate Brewing and Fair State Brewing Cooperative will take their place alongside Miller and Coors beers.

Chicago-based MillerCoors is the official major corporate partner at the stadium, so the full array of its labels will flow freely inside the stadium when it opens with a soccer match Aug. 3.

And there's more. The bigger local favorites will always be available throughout the building, including Surly, Summit, Lake Monster, Lift Bridge, 612Brew, Fulton and Finnegans.

Aramark, the food and beverage manager, aims to reflect the local flavor in the building's offerings, according to spokesman Dave Freireich.

For the microbrewers, it's a chance to offer their products to a larger audience, he said.

Several local food entrepreneur-chefs, including Andrew Zimmern, Gavin Kaysen, Nick Rancone and Thomas Boemer, have already been announced as culinary partners.
