One of the nicer things for Missouri linebacker Kentrell Brothers about being drafted by the Vikings is getting to meet Adrian Peterson.

Brothers is an Oklahoma native, having grown up in Guthrie. As a kid, Brothers went to a lot of OU games and got a chance to watch Peterson.

"I did watch him," said Brothers, who was taken by the Vikings in the fifth round. "I was at the game where he broke his collarbone scoring a touchdown."

Brothers is referring to a 2006 game where Peterson was hurt on a 53-yard scoring run late in a victory over Iowa State.

"I was a huge fan of his growing up," Brothers said. "Huge fan" And now Peterson is his teammate. "It's crazy growing up watching him, and now I get to be his teammate," Brothers said. "I'm glad to get some advice from him."
