Every weekday, we walk you through what's going on with the Vikings.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

— Cornerback Xavier Rhodes passed the concussion protocol and practiced yesterday, three days after his scary collision in the Chargers game.

— Running back Adrian Peterson believes poise is the biggest reason why Christian Ponder is the QB of the past and Teddy Bridgewater is here.

— Bridgewater is preparing to go throw for throw with Peyton Manning, whom he called "probably the best quarterback to play this game."

— The Vikings will go up against a patchwork Broncos offensive line Sunday.

— This week's edition of "Five Vikings stats that stand out" includes a pair of numbers for Peterson and one for rookie cornerback Trae Waynes.

BEHIND ENEMY LINES

— Manning referenced the "Bad News Bears" yesterday when talking about a Broncos offense that is still trying to get in sync.

— A shoulder injury kept Broncos left tackle Ty Sambrailo out of practice.

— One Denver columnist thinks that "if the Broncos shut down Peterson, they will beat Minnesota by at least two touchdowns."

TODAY'S VIKINGS SCHEDULE

The Vikings practice at 1 p.m. The coordinators are on the podium at 11 a.m.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

My buddy Paul Allen shared a good stat on Twitter last night: Through three games, Peterson has 120 more rushing yards than the Broncos. The interesting part of that is not that Peterson leads the league in rushing with 291 yards. It's that the Broncos have been able to go 3-0 while averaging fewer than 60 yards per game — and vice versa. Usually, teams that win end up running the ball a lot late, padding those stats. But in their latest win, that didn't work and they had to turn to Manning to close out the Lions.
