Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones was suspended for at least four games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will then determine the full length of the suspension following the Cowboys’ game in Washington on Nov. 16.

In a letter to Jones on Tuesday, Goodell cited a “disturbing pattern of behavior and clearly inconsistent with the conditions I set for your continued participation in the NFL.”

Kansas City
Larry Johnson
was charged with pushing a woman at a Kansas City nightclub in February, the third time the Chiefs running back has been charged with assaulting a woman.

He is to appear in court Dec. 3 and could face a maximum jail term of six months and a $500 fine.

Chiefs coach Herm Edwards was evasive when asked if the two-time Pro Bowler would play this week against Tennessee.

“I haven’t made a decision on anybody right now,” Edwards said.

• Lions quarterback Jon Kitna was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list. There had been speculation the Lions might trade Kitna.

• Giants quarterback Eli Manning bruised his chest in the Giants’ 35-14 loss to the Browns on Monday. Coach Tom Coughlin was not certain about the extent of the injury.

• Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander signed with the Redskins. Alexander, a former Seahawk, signed a one-year deal to back up the NFL’s  leading rusher, Clinton Portis.
