PLAYER SPEAK QB RYAN TANNEHILL

• Tannehill is 13th in the NFL with 3,390 passing yards and sixth with a .663 completion percentage.

• Tannehill is one of four quarterbacks with an improved quarterback rating over the past three seasons. His current passer rating is 90.8.

• On the Dolphins' last two losses: "When you control your own destiny and don't play well, that's basically what we've done the last two weeks, it's tough. We started off games well and didn't play well in the second half. It's hard to swallow."

• On cornerback Xavier Rhodes: "He plays the ball well in the air. I've seen him make some great plays on the ball on stop routes. He really makes it tough with his long arms. If the ball is not going to the perfect spot, he's going to have a chance to pick it. So I definitely respect the way he is playing right now."

COACH SPEAK JOE PHILBIN

• The 53-year-old is in his third season as Dolphins coach. His record is 22-24.

• On Tannehill's improvement: "His accuracy has improved. I think his decision-making has improved. A lot of the measurements of quarterbacks, his quarterback rating is higher than it's ever been, so I think he's making good progress."

• On the last two losses: "We haven't played 60 minutes of football. … We were winning one game at halftime by three points, and we were losing the other game at halftime by one point."

• On Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater: "He's completing almost 64 percent of his passes. For a rookie, I think that's outstanding. I like his poise back there and his ability to kind of keep his focus where it needs to be. I think he's done a heck of a job."
