Free-agent tackle J'Marcus Webb said Tuesday evening that he is signing with the Vikings.

Webb announced on Twitter that he is rejoining the Vikings, who need another tackle with Phil Loadholt out for the season.

Webb played eight games for the Vikings last year. He was a backup but made one start at right tackle because Loadholt was sidelined.

A seventh-round pick of Chicago in 2010, Webb is listed at 6-foot-7 and 333 pounds. He started 44 games in three seasons with the Bears before signing with the Vikings last season.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer on Monday said that Loadholt will be sidelined for the rest of this season because of a torn pectoral.

Backup tackle Mike Harris, who filled in for Loadholt in Sunday's loss to Green Bay, is likely the next man up.

The Vikings have yet placed Loadholt on injured reserve, but they are expected to Wednesday, which would free up a spot on the 53-man roster for Webb.
