What might happen Sunday in Buffalo?

MATT VENSEL: THE BILLS WILL RECORD AT LEAST SIX MORE SACKS

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer gave us a stat this week that he probably shared with his offensive players, too. The gist was that sacks and turnovers are bad. Since Teddy Bridgewater was sacked eight times last week, let's focus on those. The Vikings are 0-4 when they allow a sack. And when they allow six or more sacks, which they have done in three games, well, they lose by a lot. The Lions may have the best defensive front in football, but the Bills aren't far behind. So barring an impressive turnaround by the Vikings offensive line, I see the Bills getting to the quarterback a half dozen times, and thanks to Zimmer, we now know how that usually turns out.
MARK CRAIG: A WHITE FLAG WILL BE RAISED

A sports writer will utter the words not heard on American soil since the invention of Twitter: "I do not know what will happen and I am perfectly content waiting until kickoff to find out." That same sports writer will drop to his knees and pray to the football gods that, win or lose, Cordarrelle Patterson touches the ball as many times as it takes for Norv Turner not to be asked why Cordarrelle Patterson isn't touching the ball more."
MASTER TESFATSION: VIKINGS HOLD BILLS TO SINGLE DIGITS

An anonymous Star Tribune colleague questioned my correctly predicted bold prediction last week that Vikings defense would hold the Lions under 300 total yards. There's an asterisk on my first correct prediction, and in my best Sid Hartman impersonation, I must prove the naysayers wrong this week. I'm sticking the defense as they face Bills quarterback Kyle Orton. They'll hold the Bills to single digits.
CHRIS MILLER: GAME WILL BE DECIDED BY AN ODD BOUNCE

A punt hits someone's leg. A fumble takes a strange turn and is returned for a touchdown. A field goal attempt hits an upright. A pass goes off someone's helmet. Something odd will happen that will turn this game in one team's favor. But it won't be caused by the weather. Even though, as Dennis Green once said, in Buffalo "the weather patterns picks up the Calcutta Clipper, swings up, swings down, lake front, then out."
