PLAYER SPEAK WR SAMMY WATKINS

• Watkins is fourth among rookies in receptions (26) and third in receiving yards (311). The fourth overall pick also has two touchdowns this season as the Bills leading receiver.

• On his rookie season:  "It's been a great experience. I'm competing with the best players, and we're doing good right now. We just got to keep it up, and I'm loving the NFL. There's a lot of ups-and-downs.

• On adjusting to physical corners: "I've got our cornerbacks being very physical from grabbing me, holding me, pushing me while I'm running my routes. I've got those guys trying to get me better everyday in practice, and I think that helped me out against [the Patriots' Darrelle] Revis and going to help me out in the future."

COACH SPEAK Doug Marrone

• The 50-year-old is in his second season as the Bills head coach. He is 9-13.

• On Watkins:  "I think a lot of people expect a lot from him early on, especially being a first round draft pick, but he's progressing well."

• On starting Orton:  "We felt we needed better production out of that position. Not to say that everyone else around him was playing well, because that wasn't the case either, but we just thought we needed more production out of that and give E.J. a chance to sit back and Kyle to get in there. He's done a nice job for us."

• On the Bills defense:  "[Last year] we weren't able to defend and stop the run. I think this year we've obviously improved on that quite a bit. We've have good players on that side of the ball, very good players on that side of the ball, and they're playing well."
