Ex-Viking Holcomb looks ready to retire
Kelly Holcomb started three games last season for the Vikings.

Former Vikings quarterback Kelly Holcomb's NFL career appears to be finished after 12 seasons. Holcomb, who played for six teams, will become part of alma mater Middle Tennessee State's radio broadcasts this season, working as a sideline reporter. He told the Nashville-based Tennessean that his NFL career is likely done.
Holcomb was acquired by the Vikings in training camp from the Eagles for a sixth-round pick in 2009 and started three games in place of an injured Tarvaris Jackson.
• Quarterback Kyle Wright, waived by the Vikings last week, was claimed by the 49ers on Monday.
• Vikings single-game tickets and two-game minipack will go on sale in person at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Metrodome Gate B ticket booth. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster locations starting at 10 a.m. Single-game tickets range from $30 to $135. The Nov. 9 Green Bay game will be packaged with the Aug. 8 exhibition game against Seattle. Fans purchasing tickets to the Green Bay game will have to buy tickets to the Seattle game. If available, prices for that package range from $96 to $176.
