First round (23rd overall)

SHARRIF FLOYD

Defensive tackle, Florida, 6-3, 295 pounds

•In 37 games at Florida (26 starts), had 115 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks and three blocked field goals. In 2012 he had 46 tackles, 13 for loss, with a forced fumble and three sacks. Was first-team all-SEC by both the media and the coaches.

The quote: "He has the combination not only to play the run but to rush the passer inside as well." — Vikings GM Rick Spielman.

First round (25th)

XAVIER RHODES

Cornerback, Florida State, 6-2, 217 pounds

• Started 38 of 43 games in college, emerging as one of the top cover corners in college football. In 2012 he had 10 passes defensed and three interceptions. The third pick — the eighth in his career — came in ACC championship game. Very capable in press coverage. Finished college career with 140 tackles — 112 solo — eight picks and 23 passes defensed.

The quote: "We feel he'll come in and mach up with some of the receivers in our division." — Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.

First round (29th)

CORDARRELLE PATTERSON

Wide receiver, Tennessee, 6-3, 205 pounds

• After impressive junior college career, went to Tennessee and had 46 receptions for 778 yards and five TDs in only full season with the Vols. Has great size and speed, is versatile both carrying the ball and returning it. But his skill needs refining and there are questions about his hands. Athletic ability and return ability fills needs on the team.

The quote: "I feel like I'm ready. I only played one year [at Tennessee]. I had to go the JUCO route. That JUCO route made me who I am today. Now I'm ready for the big leagues."

Fourth round (120th)

GERALD HODGES

Outside linebacker, Penn State, 6-1, 243 pounds

• Was a leader on a Nittany Lions defense that finished second in the Big Ten and 16th nationally in points allowed (19.1 per game). A converted high school quarterback, Hodges began his college career at safety before moving to linebacker during his true freshman season. He led the team with 106 tackles in 2011 playing on the weak side and with 109 in 2012 while playing the strong side. He had 18.5 tackles for loss in that time. He also led the team with seven pass breakups in 2012 and was second on the team with two interceptions.

The quote: "Whatever they need me to do I'm ready to do it. I'm ready to be a Viking. I'm ready to get started."

Fifth round (155th)

JEFF LOCKE

Punter, UCLA, 6-0, 207 pounds

• Averaged 44.23 yards on 275 career punts over four seasons at UCLA. As a senior he averaged 43.3 while putting 34 of 77 punts inside the 20-yard line (21 of those were at or inside the 10). He was named first-team all-Pac-12 by the coaches as a senior and was an honorable-mention All-America pick by SI.com. A left-footed punter, he also kicked off, and 68 of his 89 kickoffs in 2012 were touchbacks. He will come to the Vikings asked to concentrate on punting and holding.

The quote: "I don't think it would be," he said when asked if it would be awkward to compete with fellow UCLA alum Chris Kluwe. "I'm just going to come in and compete."

Sixth round (196th)

JEFF BACA

Guard, UCLA, 6-3, 302 pounds

• Versatile and tough lineman who started 20 career games at tackle and 25 at guard for the Bruins, a team he grew up watching. Ruled academically ineligible in 2010, Baca injured an ankle in 2011 spring practice and didn't return from surgery until the second game; he finished that season at tackle. In 2012 he was named a second-team all-Pac-12 by the coaches. Especially adept at pass protection, Baca will struggle against strong bull rushers.

The quote: "I think with great coaching … I think I can excel at either position," he said of playing guard or tackle.

Seventh round (213th)

MICHAEL MAUTI

Linebacker, Penn State, 6-2, 243 pounds

• Talented linebacker who saw his college career marred by three ACL tears, one that wiped out his 2009 season (right knee), one that ended his 2011 season after four games (left) and one that ended his college career with one game left in the 2012 season (left, again). But, when healthy, he was productive; he was named all-Big Ten Conference and was an ESPN All-America in 2012. Tough, instinctual and a sure tackler. Had 95 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 11 games as a senior.

The quote: "I've been working and rehabbing," he said. "I feel great. … I'll be ready to go [for training camp]."

Seventh round (214th)

TRAVIS BOND

Right guard, North Carolina, 6-6, 327 pounds

• Size alone makes him an intriguing prospect. Started at right guard his final two seasons at North Carolina. His sometimes slow feet and hands made him available in the seventh round. Further work on conditioning and technique could make him a find. But his toughness is manifest; how many players can get hit by an SUV (like Bond did in February, 2012), jump right up and make it to study hall?

The quote: "The pace of play," Bond said when asked what will be the biggest transition. "I'm big and strong enough to compete with anybody. It will be getting used to the speed of the game."

Seventh round (229th)

EVERETT DAWKINS

Defensive tackle, Florida State, 6-2, 292 pounds

Appeared in 57 games at FSU, starting 41. Finished his career with 106 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He is very quick for a defensive tackle, often able to beat a blocker with his explosive first step. Hustles hard in the pass rush, and has a low center of gravity. His numbers were affected by FSU's defense, which Dawkins said emphasized reading rather than just shooting gaps.

The quote: "My body and my playing style is more of an attack one-gap," he said. "That's what Minnesota is. I'm loving it. I get to get back to my old way of playing."
