Update: Allen fined. Harvin limps through early part of practice

Posted by: Mark Craig under Injury report, Vikings, Bears, Packers, Antoine Winfield, Jared Allen, Percy Harvin Updated: November 28, 2012 - 4:26 PM

Defensive end Jared Allen was fined $21,000 for his blindside hit on Bears guard Lance Louis in Sunday’s game.

Antoine Winfield was returning an interception for the Vikings when Allen left his feet and leveled Lewis, who suffered a season-ending left knee injury on the play.

Bears coach Lovie Smith was critical of the hit, saying “I think our game could do without that play.”

There was no penalty on the play, and after the game Allen said, “I threw myself into him, just like we’re taught.”

Allen talks to the media at Winter Park on Thursday, so we'll get his reaction tomorrow.

Harvin not at full speed

Receiver Percy Harvin was running at practice. Just not very fast.

Wearing no visible wrap or brace on his sprained left ankle, Harvin ran pass routes during individual drills while reporters were able to watch practice. He was slower than normal running straight ahead, but looked promising when he was doing just that.

He went into and out of cuts very gingerly -- especially for him -- and was limping at the end of every route. He also was visibly upset that he wasn't able to run better at this point. He sprained the ankle Nov. 4 and has sat out two games in addition to the team's bye week.

Harvin didn't participate in the few team drills that were run prior to the open portion of practice ending.

Meanwhile, tight end Kyle Rudolph didn't practice because of a shoulder strain. He's been cleared from the concussion he suffered on Sunday.

Packers injury report

The Packers reported WR Donald Driver (thumb), LB Clay Matthews (hamstring), DT Ryan Pickett (quadricep), RB Johnny White (concussion) and DE C.J. Wilson (knee) did not practice.
