Harvin takes full part in practice

Posted by: Kent Youngblood under Off the field, Leslie Frazier, Leslie Frazier, Percy Harvin Updated: June 21, 2012 - 1:42 PM

So, is the Percy Harvin saga coming to an end?

Hard to say. The good news for fans is that Harvin, who expressed unhappiness on Tuesday, whose request for a trade became public Wednesday, who skipped practice later that day, was back.

Harvin not only returned to the practice field Thursday for the final practice of mandatory mini-camp, but he took full part in a practice that focused on Red Zone offense and defense. Not only that, but if you read into his body language -- and, since he didn't talk to us, that's all we have to go on -- appeared to be upbeat. Indeed, Harvin was grinning and joking with teammates as he took the field.

After practice ended, Harvin was escorted off the field by a member of the team's public relations department. When asked if he would talk, he grinned and said, "I'll talk later.''

I'm guessing that means a few weeks from now in Mankato.

Harvin might not have talked with the reporters present, but the following tweet showed up on his verified Twitter account after practice ended: "I'm really clueless on the crazy reports...had great prac today...to all my real fans and real vikes fans see u at Mankato...salute"

Here's what coach Leslie Frazier had to say on the issue:

Frazier said he talked, briefly, with Harvin since the receiver missed practice. "We talked about a couple things," Frazier said. "It's great to see him out there, with his teammates, and practicing. Just great to have him around."

Did Frazier get clarity on what was bothering Harvin? "I think he wants the same thing we want," Frazier said. "We all want to bring a championship to Minnesota. He wants that in the worst way, and that's one of the most important things, that we all want the same thing."

Frazier said he would talk further with Harvin, but said he'd be talking to a lot of players before training camp began. "But that should be behind us," Frazier said. "We're moving forward."

Frazier said he expected 100 percent participation on the first day of camp.

That's about all for now. Have a good afternoon.
