Agent: Three teams have high interest in Williamson

David Canter says he met with Rick Spielman to discus the scenarios.

Last update: February 25, 2008 - 12:08 AM

INDIANAPOLIS — The agent for Vikings wide receiver Troy Williamson said Sunday that trade talks involving his client have "heated up" with three teams. David Canter met late Sunday night with Vikings Vice President of Player Personnel Rick Spielman at the NFL Scouting Combine to "discuss the offers and each situation."

Canter declined to discuss the talks or the three teams involved but did say Williamson is "involved in all the discussions and is aware of the teams."

Canter, who arrived back at the NFL combine on Sunday morning after attending another client's wedding a day earlier, was given permission by the Vikings last week to shop Williamson. The situation will continue until at least 11 p.m. Thursday because no trade can be made official until the league's new year begins. The Vikings must approve any trade worked out by Canter.

Canter initially said "eight to 10" teams were interested in the speedy receiver, who has been plagued by dropped passes since being the seventh overall pick in the NFL draft in 2005.

Etc.

• Florida State receiver De'Cody Fagg injured his left knee during morning drills Sunday at the combine and had to be taken from the RCA Dome field on a stretcher.

• An LSU team doctor told the website NFLDraftScout.com that there are serious concerns over lingering effects of a stress fracture prized defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey suffered in his right tibia in 2006. The site reported Dorsey underwent a physical Saturday at the combine and was subsequently sent to the hospital for further tests. Dorsey did not work out at the combine.
