Leslie Frazier just completed his regular Wednesday news conference at Winter Park. Perhaps the most notable news: running back Adrian Peterson has not yet been ruled out for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

Frazier did say Peterson was the "most questionable" of all the injured Vikings, still in a walking boot as he recovers from the high-ankle sprain he suffered last weekend against Oakland. Frazier said the plan is to get Peterson out of the boot Thursday and then evaluate how he is when moving around when putting some weight on the ankle.

Peterson would have to return to practice Friday for the coaching staff to even consider playing him in Atlanta.

"If he can't do anything by Friday, we wouldn't try to go and work him out on Sunday to see if he'd be ready to go," Frazier said.

Peterson's absence would make Toby Gerhart the Vikings' top running back against the Falcons with Lorenzo Booker also in line to see some work out of the backfield.

Here's a quick look at the other notable Vikings injuries:

  • Tight ends Visanthe Shiancoe (hamstring) and Kyle Rudolph (strained quadriceps) may both miss this afternoon's practice with Frazier hoping to "go slow with them" as they recover. If both Shiancoe and Rudolph are limited, the coaching staff is discussing a possible elevation of Allen Resiner from the practice squad to bolster the depth at that position.
  • Guard Anthony Herrera will try to practice this afternoon and still has a chance of returning to action in Atlanta. Herrera has missed the Vikings' past three games with an LCL injury in his left knee. "We're looking forward to see how he moves around," Frazier said.
  • Safety Husain Abdullah will be evaluated day-to-day, still bouncing back from a concussion suffered in Week 10.
