VIKINGS SEND SEVEN TO PRO BOWL
The Vikings had seven players named to the Pro Bowl on Feb. 10 in Honolulu, the most since 2000 (the team record is 10 in 1998).
• Rookie running back Adrian Peterson (shown) is a starter as a rookie. Peterson is third in the NFL with 1,218 rushing yards; the only other Vikings rookie running back named to a Pro Bowl was Chuck Foreman (1973).
• Guard Steve Hutchinson, for the fifth time, and center Matt Birk, for the sixth time, made the team. Birk is the only of the seven Vikings who was not chosen as a starter.
• Fullback Tony Richardson makes the Pro Bowl for the third time; the first two came when he played for Kansas City.
• Defensive tackles Pat Williams and Kevin Williams will both start.
• Strong safety Darren Sharper will play in his fourth Pro Bowl.
