Vikings replay

Last update: December 9, 2007 - 9:51 PM

GAME BALLS Pat Williams, Vikings: Heart, soul and big toe of the defense had a sack and an interception; big tackle is bound to be headed for the Pro Bowl again. Chester Taylor, Vikings: The Niners stacked up against the Vikings' run game, but Taylor broke loose for an 84-yarder on his way to a 101-yard day. PLAY OF THE GAME

First quarter, 49ers opening drive

The play: San Francisco quarterback Trent Dilfer's pass was blocked by Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams, who grabbed the ball and rumbled 18 yards for a touchdown. The result: The Vikings were quickly ahead 7-0, and Dilfer was never effective before he was knocked out of the game at the end of the half. JACKSON'S ACTIONS

Grading the Vikings' starting quarterback

Play: With the Niners stacked in the box, Jackson should've had a monster day. He didn't. Grade: Wade Leadership: We wonder ... did he tell Visanthe Shiancoe, "Hey, now you've dropped TD passes thrown by three different guys!"? Grade: Wade Stats: 16-for-25 for 163 yards and a TD ... as mentioned, we were looking for a monster day, though. Grade: Wade Overall: Jackson's doing well in the short game and has the team on a four-game win streak. Can't complain. Grade: Wade HOW HOT CAN THE KID GET?

About the Bears: Chicago (5-8) has a nice long break between games after losing to Washington 24-16 on Thursday night. The Bears have played rotating quarterbacks; it appears Brian Griese will start for the injured Rex Grossman.

Dangerous player: Devin Hester (above) is Chicago's only weapon. He has nine kick return TDs in two seasons.
