NFC: Bucs say stay away
With the Dolphins having started the season 0-9, there is talk about them joining the 1976 expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-14) as the only teams since World War II to go winless for an entire season.
"Hopefully, we won't have teams joining us in that distinction," Bucs Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon told the St. Petersburg Times. "I do not wish that on anyone or any team."
AFC: Steelers' defense is fabulous, but so is their offense
The Steelers lead the league in total defense, run defense, pass defense and scoring defense. But did you know the offense is on pace to score more points than any team in the 75-year history of the franchise?
With 253 points, the Steelers are on pace to score 450 points. The record is 416 set in 1979, the last of the Steelers' four Super Bowl championship seasons in the 1970s.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a 110.2 passer rating, which would break his team record of 98.6 in 2005. He also has the second-best rating in team history, 98.1 in 2004.
"I honestly don't even know it until people bring it up," Roethlisberger said when asked about the records. "That's not something I've ever focused on. I focus on what the Steelers are doing."
