What: New professional football league scheduled to begin play in April.

Where: Six teams in traditional college football hotbeds Michigan, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee and Texas will play a 10-game regular season schedule. The championship game is scheduled for July.

Salaries: Players will make between $50,000-$100,000 per season. They must have college degrees and have no college eligibility remaining. The league is a single-entity ownership, meaning players will work for the league and be assigned to teams.

Team Michigan: About 400 prospective players will try out for Team Michigan during three invitation-only tryout sessions at Ford Field today. Some of the players the league said will participate are former Gophers Ron Johnson and Kyle McKenzie; former Holy Angels and University of Wisconsin quarterback John Stocco; former University of Florida quarterback Chris Leak; former Heisman Trophy winner and Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch; former Michigan and NFL quarterback John Navarre; and former 49ers and Michigan receiver Tai Streets.
