The attorney for former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper said his client will testify today that he wasn't involved in any lap dance on the Vikings boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka last fall, but was playing dice with other men.

The testimony by Culpepper in a pretrial hearing will be the first time he has given an account of the cruise.

Culpepper, a buddy and a cousin from Florida boarded the second cruise boat and headed toward the back, where they set up tables to play dice, attorney Earl Gray said. About six or seven men were present, he said, recounting what Culpepper and a friend will testify to.

Women wearing scanty clothing came upstairs to offer to perform lap dances, Gray said, but the men rejected the offer. A bartender may have seen Culpepper near a woman, but he didn't lay hands on her, Gray said.

The hearing, at 9 a.m. in Hennepin County District Court, is to examine whether there is enough evidence to go to trial and to look at a motion filed by the attorneys for Culpepper and running back Moe Williams that the prosecutor engaged in selective prosecution based on race against their black clients. The attorneys argued that a boat captain who is white wasn't charged after he touched a woman's breast with his mouth.

Prosecutor Steve Tallen has rejected the allegation of selective prosecution.

Culpepper, Williams and two other players were charged with misdemeanor indecent conduct and lewdness.
