Getting There

  • Updated: April 7, 2010 - 6:44 AM

Target Field is in Minneapolis' North Loop neighborhood, which is part of the downtown historic warehouse district near Target Center. It's located on 3rd Av. between 5th and 7th Sts.

April 6: From rails to trails, lots of ways to get to Target Field.

The ballpark is at the convergence of the Hiawatha Light Rail line, the Northstar Commuter Rail line, the future Central Corridor Transit line and Interstate Hwys. 394 and 94, as well as the Cedar Lake bike trail.

Here are transportation options to Target Field:

Hiawatha LRT

The Hiawatha line offers service to 19 stations between downtown Minneapolis and Mall of America. Dozens of bus routes are timed to connect with Hiawatha trains, and there are more than 2,800 parking spaces at 28th Av., Fort Snelling and Lake St./Midtown stations. It is suggested that you purchase an "Event 6-Hour Pass" for $4 on weekdays and $3.50 on weekends for an easy roundtrip. The regular Hiawatha fares for adults are $1.75 (non-rush hour, local), $2.25 (non-rush hour express and rush hour local) and $3 (rush hour express.)

MTC bus

Metro Transit operates a web of 118 interconnected bus routes across the Twin Cities. Most routes provide direct access to downtown Minneapolis with several routes stopping within one block of Target Field. A popular route is 679, which offers express service on I-394 to every home game.

Northstar Commuter Rail

The Northstar Commuter Rail line offers service from Big Lake to Target Field Station, with stops in Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids and Fridley. The Northstar provides service to Twins games on 53 special dates during the 2010 season. Check the Northstar schedule to ensure service is being provided to your game. Fares range from $75 cents (station to station) to $7 (Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis.)

Access to Target Field is provided via the Cedar Lake Trail and designated bike routes and lanes on Minneapolis city streets.  Almost 400 bicycle parking options will be available in the Target Field/downtown are during Target Field events.
