Orioles acquire Danny Valencia from Boston

The Baltimore Orioles have acquired former Twins infielder Danny Valencia from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for "cash consideration," according to the team's twitter feed.

Valencia was the Twins starting third baseman at the beginning of last season, but was sent to the minors before being traded to the Red Sox for an outfielder was who was on Boston's rookie league team.

Valencia batted .198 for the Twins in 34 games and .143 for the Red Sox in 10 games, also spending time at Class AAA Rochester and Pawtucket.
