Ex-Dolphins boss Tony Sparano to coach Vikings offensive line

Former Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano will be the new Vikings offensive line coach.

Sparano coached Miami from 2008-11 and had a 29-31 record, winning the AFC East in his first season.

He was Jets offensive coordinator in 2012, then was an assistant head coach/offensive line in Oakland (2013-14) and San Francisco's tight ends coach last season.

Sparano also was interim head coach in Oakland in 2014, going 3-9 in 12 games. He coached with Vikings coach Mike Zimmer in Dallas when they were assistants. Sparano has been an NFL coach since 1999.

Zimmer released offensive line coach Jeff Davidson on Tuesday.

Just what is Peterson's agent hinting at?

It must be nice to be so comfortable financially that you can pass up $250,000, like Adrian Peterson might if he doesn’t show up for the Vikings’ offseason workouts.

And now you have Peterson’s agent, Ben Dogra, posting photos on social media wearing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers hat.

If Dogra is hinting the Bucs might give up the No. 1 overall pick in next week’s draft for Peterson – and that would be a huge stretch – well, I would certainly make that deal. The Vikings would turn that pick into three or four really good picks.

I still expect Peterson to be on the Vikings this season, despite the strange actions of his agent....
