The Twins placed shortstop J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled list with a left wrist contusion today and recalled infielder Matt Tolbert from Class AAA Rochester.
Hardy injured the wrist on a slide into third base on May 4. He will be eligible to come off the DL on May 20, for the final game of the Twins' series at Boston.
Tolbert, who played third base for the Twins down the stretch last year, was batting .232 for Rochester.
