CLEVELAND -- The temperature could reach 80 degrees here today. It's beautiful. The Twins took early batting practice at Progressive Field, and Justin Morneau was taking hard swings (as if he takes any other kind), driving balls all over the ballpark.

Guessing Morneau will be back in the lineup tonight, when the Twins face Cleveland RHP Fausto Carmona.

No word yet on whom the Twins have tabbed to make Saturday's start. Updates to come.

Update: According to Major League Baseball, Denard Span was fined an undisclosed amount for throwing his bat after being ejected by home-plate umpire Paul Emmel. The good news for the Twins is Span was not suspended.

Update: The Twins placed RHP Nick Blackburn on the Family Medical Emergency List, as he has returned to Oklahoma for a personal family matter. Blackburn will be on the FMEL for 3-7 days.

RHP Jeff Manship has been promoted from Class AAA Rochester to make Saturday's start against Cleveland.

Update: And yes, Morneau is back in the starting lineup. This is the Opening Day lineup, except for Harris at third base. Nick Punto's here, too. He'll be activated from the DL on Saturday.

Update: The Twins want to see how Punto feels after going through a pregame workout before deciding if he'll be activated from the DL on Saturday. The announcement would come after tonight's game, and Luke Hughes would most likely be sent back to Rochester.
