-Just meandered through a video with La Velle that should be on the website shortly.

-Wrote about Francisco Liriano for the Friday paper.

-Someone email La Velle and ask how he shattered the glass in the press box.

-I had a Sid moment today. I was trying to ask Nick Punto about Francisco Liriano, and I asked if this is the best Liriano has looked since 1996.

Of course, I meant 2006. Punto told me he was in high school in 1996. I told him I was not.

-As I said in the video, there is a reason Nick Punto is playing every day, and it's not because he got three hits today. That's a bonus. He's playing because he is the Twins' best-fielding third baseman, and because Brendan Harris has not hit enough in the last two years to justify playing him for his bat.

-Joe Mauer went hitless today. Millions mourned.

-As Michael Cuddyer proved on his pop-up like homer to left today, if you want to hit homers at Target Field, you better pull the ball down the lines. Hit it to center or the power alleys, and you'd better be juicing if you want it to go out.

-Liriano seemed very happy after the game, very comfortable, very optimistic. For a guy who has seemed nervous and wary the last two years, I think that's a good sign.

-I'll be on 1500ESPN tomorrow at 2:35 with Pat and Joe, then on again in the 6 o'clock hour with Joe Anderson.

The Gardenhire show starts 9:30 a.m. Sunday followed by Sunday Sports Talk.
