Adalberto Mejia has pitched well in camp. He's been around the plate, mixes his pitches well and while he throws 90-93, he can reach back for 95 if he needs it. Mejia has made his case to be in the rotation race - or at least be the first man called up from Rochester if needed.

Mejia is on the mound today for the Twins as they play host to St. Louis. Tyler Duffey was originally scheduled to start, but he now will pitch in a minor league game down the street. So this will be another good test for Mejia.

With Trevor May injured and Jose Berrios at the WBC, there's an opportunity for Mejia, Duffey or Ryan Vogelsong to improve their positioning.

All the position players were summoned to a hitters meeting this morning before the pre-game workout The one thing that has stood out about this camp is the number of meetings that have taken place. Hitters, pitchers, catchers have broken away at times to have these sessions, so no one can say he didn't receive whatever message the coaching staff is trying to send to them.

The communication surge hasn't just been in the clubhouse. Falvine has held plenty of staff meetings in the baseball ops department. Their vision of "collaborative communication" definitely is underway down here.

The Cardinals have brought some recognizable names over from the other side of the state. Wonder if the Twins will do the same tomorrow when they head to Jupiter to play the Cardinals?

And closer Glen Perkins is scheduled to throw another light bullpen session today as he works his way back from shoulder surgery.
