Happy Friday, baseball fans! Just pulled into historic McKechnie Field in Bradenton where the Twins are playing the Pirates. The Twins have a nice road team today, with Ervin Santana, Byron Buxton and Eddie Rosario playing. Jose Berrios is scheduled to pitch as well.

Oswaldo Arcia returns to the lineup after missing several days because of illness. He's the DH.

Lots of stuff going on back at Fort Myers. Glen Perkins is going to test his sore right side to see if he can begin his progression towards returning to the lineup. Lester Oliveros, who has a been held back because of a slight shoulder condition, is going to throw in the bullpen.

The minor leaguers have reported! So they are working out in advance of their spring schedules. The opening of minor league camp usually signals the first round of cuts on the major league side, but the Twins will wait a few days before sending some guys packing.

Just finished up a nice Sunday feature on Danny Santana, who is proof that it's hard to look at a teenager and project how he will develop. I was talking with a coach in the clubhouse this morning about Jorge Polanco, and we agreed that he's headed in the same direction. Polanco was a kind of scrawny kid when they signed him in 2009. He's started to fill out nicely and looks like a real player.

Gotta love spring training. Saw Mark Hamburger riding a skateboard to the clubhouse this morning.
