A couple of extra notes from the Twins' comeback victory:

-- Counting rehab assignments, there are 11 players on the roster who played for Rochester this year, so "don't think for a second this whole clubhouse wasn't scoreboard hunting today," first baseman Chris Colabello said. And they liked what they saw: Once Norfolk lost to Durham, 1-0 in 10 innings, the Red Wings cruised to a 13-3 victory over Scranton-Wilkes Barre, and their first playoff berth since 2006.

"I'm thrilled for those guys. I've been living every pitch with those guys since I've been up here," Colabello said.

Catcher Chris Herrmann said he was proud of the way the Red Wings came back after a 2-11 start to the season, "the longest two weeks of my life."

The playoff berth means September callups must wait a week or two. Cole DeVries will start for Rochester against Pawtucket, the Red Sox's top affiliate, when the playoffs open Wednesday.

Chris Colabello hopes to win Justin Morneau's old job, now that the first baseman has been traded. But the rookie sounded Monday like he'd rather have Morneau back on the Twins.

"Justin Morneau is a star. He was a star for a long time, and he's deeply missed in this clubhouse. He was everything I could ever imagine a guy being to me when I got to the big leagues," Colabello said. "I hope to maintain the friendship with him for as far as I can down the road, no matter where the game leads us. I'll be scoreboard hunting Pirates games the rest of the year, I know that."

Still, he agreed that Morneau's departure is a chance for him to win a regular job next year.

"Yeah, I guess so," he said. "Any time they put my name on the lineup card, I view it as an opportunity."
